Bible Text: Luke 1:26-38 | Mary uttered one of the great statements of Christian devotion: “I am the servant of the Lord. Let it be with me according to your word.” Yet, if we call ourselves Christian, this is where we will should be. Getting there doesn’t come from gritting our teeth, but from building in ourselves the constant awareness that all is from God. Everything we are, everything we have, everything we enjoy, all of creation, is a gift from God. When we begin with that awareness clearly before us, devotion comes more naturally.
